All exciting things in'da lab

For all those who think that most chemistry labs are boring with the "same old, same old" - YOU'RE WRONG!

Inventions on low budgets

When one can't put up a semi-inert reaction chamber because most suppliers overcharge and the country is in deep crisis then one has to invent ways to obtain the goals. A small stop to a Chinese store 'round the corner, a stop at the workshop, some DIY in the office, 2,40€ and a few hours later... chan chaaaaaaaaannnnnnn

P.S. It has been tested and seems to be working just fine ;)

don't worry be happy

To start of with... a happy go lucky tune ( /me is feeling hopeful)

The Devastator - Stormy

Lack of inspiration, enthusiasm, patients and tiredness are among the reasons why one doesn't bother to sit at the laptop and type something interesting. It's a lot easier to copy and paste a code of what one's been listening to, watching, reading and it seems like once again it'll happen. But this time... a brief update. Have watched a couple of good and really good films, listened to some excellent music (which actually keeps the day going), been reading some interesting stuff (mostly true stories) and have engaged in some long ago hobbies. And cause this is probably the weirdest thing ever written it'll end with a list...

...

and yet another pasted code of a beautifully composed commercial video (IMHO of course)

In Bruges
Vicky Cristina Barcelona
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Üç maymun (Three Monkeys)
Slumdog Millionaire
Milk

Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
Camera Obscura - My Maudlin Career
Bonnie “Prince” Billy - Beware
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It’s Blitz
Neko Case - Middle Cyclone
Dan Deacon - bromst
Tom Rush - What I Know
Bat For Lashes - Two Suns
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Been painting... from walls to wood to metal (in the near future)

As for the true stories...that’s personal, indescribable or maybe just completely untrue

Skinny Love

Skinny Love - Bon Iver

Seldom does a music come along that I am willing to play over and over again without minding one bit. This particular one grew on me and has become a very top favourite. Enjoy

Friday the 13th

It went something like figure Nº1 and there was still time for Nº2

To add of course... the encores:

Encore 1
No man in the world
Her
My sister

Encore 2
Tiny Tears

It was just great. No words really... fullhouse, happy an joy for some and a lot of sadness for others but most will agree that the concert was a must. Easy to see Tindersticks have been around for a while now and that the fans (at least the portuguese ones) remain faithful...the aveage age group rounding the well over thirties.

P.S. Hope this relieves those most eager ;)

I am Europe - Stuart Staples

In Brugge, just before going on stage, December 14th 2008, Stuart had a few moments for this quick interview.

"And as Staples sits back with a cigarette, it’s assurance, rather than relief, that lingers in the afternoon sun."

For sure

we'll have this one...
and I will be ever so greatful for it :)

Her - Tindersticks

smiling already

Foreseeing tomorrow

It'll probably be along the lines of...

Introduction
Yesterdays tomorrow’s
The flicker
Feel the sun
E-Type
Other side of the world
The organist entertains
Dyin’ slowly
City sickness
Say goodbye to the city
Sleepy song
She’s gone
Hungry saw
Mother dear
Boobar
All the love
The turns we took

Encore...

Lily Allen at her best

Fuck You - Lily Allen

Tender

For weeks a song's been playing in my head. From morning 'till night every now and again it appears and insists taking over thoughts and concentration moments. Considering it's from some 10 years ago I had to do some mind searching to try figure it all out. I came to no conclusion. To give me some piece of mind I can't help but to put it up here. The mind has it's weirdest moments that never seize to amaze...

Juan Muñoz - A Retrospective

A Retrospective by Juan Muñoz (1953-2001) will be in Museu Serralves (Porto) until February 24th. Among pieces with sound, light and mechanical effects, the Spanish artist's exhibition includes well-known sculptures such as Conversation Piece (1996), Many Times (1999), The Prompter (1988) and the “raincoat drawings”. Since the mid 80's Juan Muñoz's sculptures have overwhelmed public all over the world by creating an intriguing tension between illusion and reality. Probably the most striking effect was experiencing powerful contrasting acts such as observing and being observed at the same time.
